Time of the Draig edition by Lisa Dawn Wadler Romance eBooks
I only give 5 stars for books I really enjoy. This is one of them.Since this is a fantasy time travel book, you must “temporarily suspend disbelief”. Once that is done the characters become believable people. There are varied personalities and I for one got very invested in them and liked them. I also liked that there was a strong female lead character.
There were no absurd extremes of terrible villains or too good to be true heroes. At points this book became a tear jerker. The end was a bit predictable, but it did not take away from my enjoyment. I had trouble putting the book down. There was just the right amount of science fiction and historical romance.

Time of the Draig edition by Lisa Dawn Wadler Romance eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. It is well-written and entertaining. Our heroine is brilliant and thoughtful. In other time-travel books that I have read I got irritated at the main character for acting bratty and selfish and repeating the same mistakes over and over. I didn’t feel that way with this book which is refreshing.
I did however get a little tired of detailed descriptions of their romantic interludes. It was a little too schmoozy for me but that’s just my opinion.
A real page turner. I would recommend this book. I saw this was high on the Bestseller charts and wanted to see what the buzz was about. I was pleased to find a refreshing take on a time travel romance. Sci-fi material is complex and believable but not too hard follow. Loved the main character's self-sufficiency. I really got into the story and stayed up until 300 a.m. because I couldn't put it down. Now that I'm done, I miss the characters. Just downloaded the other book in this series and looking forward to seeing what it has to offer.
Great way to escape the real world. Time travel, romance, a dashing hero and a dynamic heroine. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the time travel setting. The author has created a plausible reason for her door through time and makes you believe in fate. Can't wait for the next installment in her series!!
An interesting look at the consequences of devices that could transport a group of persons back in time. An incredibly brilliant scientist who is also a solider, has been given devices that can change the past and then would impact what happens in the future.. She and her best friend and protector Boomer know that the devices that she has been working with are so dangerous and if put into the wrong hands would destroy the world as they know it. Basically this is a love story, time travel and possible end of the world story. The descriptions of the early Scottish people and their lives is interesting. Overall a good story.
I loved this book, the 2nd in the series. The characters were very well fleshed out and the story was intriguing. As I wrote in the review on the first book, there are at times pages and pages of love-making described, which would turn off anyone who is offended by such. I just skimmed through those (I don't really need a blow-by-blow description of sexual play).
But the relationship Samantha had with her soldiers and especially Boomer was wonderful to read. The scientific part of the story was fascinating to read and I applaud the author's knowledge and ability to make this a very real part of the story.
I loved that this book went back and established some of the backstory that was touched upon in the first book. And I would guess that the 3rd book will touch upon additional backstory. I surely hope so.
Would I recommend this book? Definitely!
Time travel with a twist. Samantha is a genius, a physicist, and a social misfit. She can't help it, she holds four PhDs, several black belts in the marshal arts and only has one true friend that she made when she joined the marines. Sempre Fi! To counter the world war that has the United States run by the military, Samantha and her best friend, Boomer plan a trip back in time to Arizona, circa 1986. The military has other plans and insists that eight condemned soldiers accompany them. They over shoot and land in twelfth century Ireland. What are the odds the Samantha would meet Faolan who has the companion Dragon tattoo to her own? How does twenty-first century technology work in the 1100's?
This intriguing book has it all murder, mayhem, great fighting, awesome battles, and some surprises. I won't do any spoilers, but I will say, it's better than any sci-fi movie I watched (and at 57, I've seen a lot!)
Another book from Lisa Dawn Wadler - quickly becoming my new favorite author. Thought it was a sequel to the The Draig's Woman but is actually a prequel. Made it easier to read as I did not need to remember characters/situations from the last book. Hope there are more books coming--really like the tone and story.
